Good Leadership Empowers Others as Dr. King’s Legacy Does

The Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The greatest treasure in life is not the wealth your amass for yourself and your family.  Realizing that it is not always about me is one of my greatest discoveries that occurred in my life.  Over the years of my assistance I have seen great sacrafices on all levels from the personal to national.  Productive output though measurable will not always equate in dollars. There exists a certain residual factor that is un-measureble though it is obvious and noticeable. Some may feel society is better served by limiting the rights of others and I strongly disagree.  Society and the world becomes a greater environment when the masses perform at their optimum without violation of civil rights, restrictions and racism.

As a person that was born in the 60′s one of the earliest influences in my life was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Being born in the southern Unites States during that era it is difficult to convey to others that did not experience the importance of a man willing to stand in the faces of degradation, murder attempts, beatings, stabbings on my behalf in the name of Jesus.  I am forever grateful for the sheltering from the nasty forces that were present and acceptable during those times.

Good Leadership Empowers Others  as Dr Martin Luther King’s legacy continues to give others opportunity in the United States.

We have come such a significant way in the Civil Rights for the United States.  The challenge that presents itself today for our 44th U.S. President Barack Obama transcends all racial and cultural economies as we have evolved into a world economy.   Had it not been for the efforts of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and countless others, the opportunity to have Barack Obama as The United States President would never have existed.  Productive output though measurable will not always equate to dollars because there are times when the value is priceless.

Getting into understanding that racism still exists throughout the world and many other champions exists in the battle. It is not the intent of this author to diminish their contributions.
